PlateCulture, a marketplace for foodies and home chefs, raised 350.000 EUR to further expand in Asia.
In 2014-15 PlateCulture had raised 200.000 EUR from Practica Capital, that now invested another 100.000 EUR into the company. Six business angels, including Mantas Mikuckas from Vinted, contributed 250.000 more EUR to the new investment round, Verslo žinios, the main Lithuanian business daily, reports.
'It proves that our idea works. After the initial investment we still needed to work further on our product and to identify its users. Now we introduced a viable business model to our investors', Edvinas Bartkus, PlateCulture's co-founder, was quoted as saying.
PlateCulture's CEO Reda Stare adds that a wide pool of investors is worth more than money as it also brings significant experience to the table.
PlaceCulture connects people who love cooking & hosting dinners with people who love eating authentic home cooked meals. It has more than 50 senior chefs and more than 700 active users in its Hong Kong network and posts a monthly 20-30% revenue growth. PlateCulture has a commission fee set for the users it connects.
