The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Lithuania has expressed interest in the Hacker Games hackathon that is due to start Friday afternoon. MoD is seeking for a personal heating device and a first aid mobile app.
Antanas Valys, the defence vice minister, has offered three ideas for the participants of Hacker Games:
1) A device that could be used for personal heating by accumulating and releasing energy. It would be used by military personnel during training when other sources of heat are not available. The device should be warming people when pressed to the body or a cold body part. It should be charged from motion, solar or other alternative source of energy and be as little reliable on external power sources as possible. It should also be compact, and dust/vibration/moisture resistant.
2) A first aid mobile app. It should instruct users about delivering emergency aid before professional medical personnel arrives. For instance, it should offer tips such as moving a sun stroke victim to the shade, removing his clothes and cooling his body, giving liquids after consciousness is regained. This app could also have location-based functions.
3) A game/app that would promote the Lithuanian army.
