The funding call from Innovation Agency Lithuania, aimed at supporting the development of innovative products and prototypes in the EdTech and GameTech sectors, closed on February 6 with an overwhelming response. A total of 184 applications were submitted—125 from EdTech startups and 59 from GameTech. However, only the top 8 projects in each category will receive funding.

“This call confirmed that Lithuanian startups are actively developing technological innovations and striving for global expansion. The high level of interest from the EdTech sector is particularly encouraging, as it shows that educational technology solutions are becoming increasingly relevant. Although only 16 projects will receive funding, we hope that many other ideas will find alternative financing sources and be successfully implemented,” said Karolina Urbonaitė, Head of Startup Lithuania at Innovation Agency Lithuania.

Startups that applied were eligible for up to €62,000 in funding to develop their innovative solutions. Applications were evaluated based on technological novelty, commercial potential, and feasibility.

The 16 selected startups will not only receive funding but also participate in specialized acceleration programs designed to help them further develop their products and prepare for market entry. This will enable startups to strengthen their technological solutions, establish valuable partnerships, and enhance their international competitiveness.

“Our goal is not just to provide funding but also to build a strong support system for startups. EdTech and GameTech are future-driven sectors with immense potential, and we are confident that the funded projects will have a significant impact on the innovation ecosystem,” emphasized K. Urbonaitė.

The application evaluation process is nearing completion, and the selected startups will soon be informed about the next steps. The Innovation Agency also plans to announce new funding opportunities in the future to further stimulate the development of innovative technologies in Lithuania.
