After walking away with the Innovation Award for best Wireless Handset Accessory at last year’s event, Deeper, the Vilnius-based makers of smart fishfinders and other electronic devices, will once again be at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas early next year. There, the company will unveil its Deeper Lock which has already been named an Honoree in the Wireless Handset Accessories category for this year’s event.
Deeper Lock is a tech-powered bike security system which combines a range of anti-theft features to provide the ultimate deterrent. Locked and unlocked through the user’s phone, it has motion sensors which are activated once the bike is locked. Any suspicious movements will activate Deeper Lock’s GPS tracking, which will start relaying location data straight to the user’s phone. These movements will also trigger a 110db alarm, and an anti-theft alert system which sends a warning message direct to the user’s phone. Plus, there’s the 12mm hardened steel locking mechanism to contend with.
The CES judging panel consider a range of criteria when judging each product. To be named an Honoree, a product must score highly in every category, from engineering, aesthetics and design, through to user value, novelty and innovation. As an Honoree in the Wireless Handset Category, Deeper Lock is joining the likes of HP and Motorola, and will feature in the Innovation Awards showcase Venetian, Level 2, Venetian Ballroom E/F.
For Deeper’s CEO, Aurelijus Liubinas, the launch of Deeper Lock represents an exciting new phase in the company’s development. “Our focus is on making everyday objects “smarter,” bridging the gap between the present and the future. Building on the global success of our smart sonar range, we are branching out into bike security. The smart features on the Deeper Lock are a huge step forward in terms of both security and usability for urban cyclists.”
