VILNIUS, Lithuania, May 2, 2024 — Following the successful launch of the multi-year accelerator program, Startup Lithuania and the global innovation platform Plug and Play are excited to announce the second call for applications. This unique opportunity seeks to nurture early-stage, tech-focused startups in Lithuania and across Central Europe, providing them with the tools and network to thrive globally.
The Startup Lithuania Accelerator powered by Plug and Play is entering its next phase, inviting innovative startups to join the second of five accelerator batches. Building on the success of the inaugural batch, the program continues to offer unparalleled access to mentorship, venture capital, and a worldwide network to foster growth and global market presence.
“This partnership with Plug and Play is crucial for the Lithuanian startup ecosystem, which has huge potential to enhance the visibility and competitiveness of its participants in the international space,” said Karolis Žemaitis, Vice-Minister of Economy and Innovation.” The program offers significant opportunities for consultations, training, and access to global networks, but it also focuses on providing direct financial support. 45 of the 60 startups are guaranteed to receive investments of at least €30,000 each, totaling a projected investment of over €5.9 million.“
Following the successful launch of our initial batch, we are excited to announce the second call for applications,” said Karolina Urbonaitė, Head of Startup Lithuania at Innovation Agency Lithuania. “In partnership with Plug and Play, we continue to support the most promising early-stage tech startups. We are happy to invite a new group of startups that will have an exceptional opportunity to grow together with an international acceleration program. Our first batch, which received over 200 applications, achieved remarkable success and exceeded our expectations, so we encourage others not to hesitate and submit their applications promptly while registrations are open.”
Applications open on May 2 and will close on June 14. To assist interested applicants in understanding the breadth and depth of the program, a webinar will be hosted on May 14, providing insights into the program structure, benefits, and the application process.
The Startup Lithuania Accelerator, in partnership with Plug and Play, offers startups mentorship from industry leaders, pitch development workshops, office hours with the Plug and Play team, and an Expo Day for presenting to potential investors and international corporations.
Following the close of applications, the Plug and Play team will conduct a thorough analysis of all submissions, presenting the most promising startups to the Plug and Play Investment Committee for final selection. Selected startups will be notified and invited to incorporate their companies in Lithuania, with further details on program onboarding provided.
“This second call for applications represents another monumental step for tech startups in Lithuania and Central Europe, aiming to scale globally,” added Karolina Urbonaitė. “Our accelerator program is more than just a platform for growth; it’s a gateway to the world.”
