Lietuvos Energija, the largest energy group in Lithuania, has set a Smart Energy track at Startup Lithuania’s Hacker Games: Vilnius hackathon that will take place on 25-27 of November with 1000 EUR in cash as the prize for the winners.
Lietuvos Energija has already shown its openness to startups and innovation by announcing a 5M EUR startup fund this spring. It also took part at Hacker Games: Vilnius in June by pitching the participants an idea to develop an app for automatic electricity / gas meter reading.
Now though Lietuvos Energija takes a further step to embrace ideas arising from Lithuania’s creative minds by setting up a fourth track at the Hacker Games: Vilnius – the Smart Energy track. Teams competing in this track will be free to choose an energy-related idea to develop over the course of weekend, and Lietuvos energija will send its experienced mentors to the event to help the teams. 1000 EUR in cash will be awarded to the winners of the Smart Energy track.
Dalius Misiūnas, CEO and Chairman of the Board at Lietuvos Energija, says the company is interested in supporting Lithuanian engineers and entrepreneurs to unleash their talent in a promising area of energy-related innovation.
“We believe our experience in the energy field and our mentors could help to extend a prototype created at a hackathon into a product or a service that both our company and businesses as well as consumers across the globe could benefit from,” – D. Misiūnas said.
Lietuvos Energija joins an event with an unrivalled pool of experience. Its Smart Energy track will be a great addition to our traditional Software, Hardware and Games tracks fuelled by experience and prizes from companies such as CSC, Game Insight, Startup Highway, VGTU LinkMenų fabrikas, Deeper and others.
The Hacker Games will take place on 25-27 of November and Vilnius Tech Park. A pre-event one week before the hackathon will be organized to help participants to polish both their ideas and their pitches. Register now and join the Hacker Games: Vilnius that will be bigger and better than ever.
