BarCamp series of meetups are back! On November 9, Wednesday, we shall meet a Piano Man bar in Vilnius to discuss hardware – making, hacking, commercializing an building a sustainable ecosystem.
This time, we dedicate BarCamp to all folks who love to make real things. We will talk about what hardware actually is, how to start building hardware products and to become a maker. Also, we shall discuss the current status of hardware market in Lithuania and ways to boost the development of hardware ecosystem.
Our format is unchanged from previous BarCamps – a short presentation on the topic first, panel discussion of industry experts second, all followed by networking and beer.
For starters, Albertas Mickėnas of Technarium will deliver an inspirational presentation:
“The Internet of Shit: why can’t we have nice things”.
Then, a discussion will take place with:
– Albertas Mickėnas, Maker at Technarium;
– Giedrius Kavaliauskas, Maker Faire producer, Fab Lab manager, Executive director of TEA (association of local hackerspaces, makerspaces and Fab Labs in Lithuania);
– Vincentas Vienozinskis – Software developer, teacher, maker. Curious person. One of Padirbtuvės founders;
– Marius Pareščius, President Užupis Creative Cluster;
– Donatas Malinauskas, CTO at Deeper.
