The Digital Innovation Competition “Skaitmeninis Knygnešys 2025” has started. This competition serves as Lithuania’s national selection for the prestigious global World Summit Awards, during which digital innovations that create a positive impact on society will be chosen.

“Skaitmeninis Knygnešys 2025” invites creators of digital solutions — startups, businesses, public sector institutions, and non-governmental organizations — to submit their digital products, services, or applications that address important societal challenges and contribute to creating positive change. The selected Lithuanian digital innovations will have the opportunity to represent Lithuania on the global stage and be evaluated alongside the world’s best digital solutions.

The organizers are looking for digital innovations that have a strong impact on society and drive positive change. The solutions may be either commercial or non-commercial, but they must already be available to users and must be fully or partially created in Lithuania.

During the competition, digital solutions will be evaluated across eight categories:

  • Government & Citizen Engagement,
  • Health & Well-being,
  • Environment & Green Energy,
  • Business & Commerce,
  • Culture & Heritage,
  • Smart Settlements & Urbanization,
  • Learning & Education,
  • and Inclusion & Empowerment.

Participation in the competition offers a unique opportunity to represent Lithuania in one of the world’s most prestigious competitions for digital innovations with societal impact — the World Summit Awards (WSA). It provides a chance to gain international visibility and recognition, access a global network of digital innovation experts, potential investors and partners, and receive valuable evaluation and feedback from both Lithuanian and international experts. Participants will also benefit from promotion opportunities for their digital solutions both in Lithuania and abroad.

Eligible participants include startups, businesses, public sector institutions, non-governmental organizations, universities, research institutions, individual creators, and teams. The organizers encourage all who meet the criteria to take part.

Applications must be submitted by June 2, 2025. The evaluation process and the announcement of winners will take place by June 2025. The selected solutions will then be submitted to the World Summit Awards competition during the summer of 2025.

The “Skaitmeninis Knygnešys” competition is organized by the State Digital Solutions Agency in cooperation with the global WSA platform.

Those wishing to participate must register their digital solution by filling out the registration form available on the website skaitmeninisknygnesys.lt. Participation is free of charge.
