Have you ever been frustrated with the lack of decent public WiFi, despite being advertised as a WiFi hotspot? Well now there’s something you can do about it! According to the press release, a new app called Rotten WiFi for iOS has been published on the Appstore this week to help you rate the best and worst places for public WiFi.

The Rotten WiFi app has been designed to help business and leisure travellers, as well as local residents to vote who can’t get free or paid for public WiFi spots to work as promised. It enables frustrated WiFi seekers to rate their experiences at certain locations and venues, providing others with an indication of whether they are likely to experience similar issues when visiting the same place. 

Using the Net Promoter Score (NPS) system of 0-10, WiFi and 3G users can also rate their internet experience, as 0 – no internet at all, 1-3 is rotten connection, 4-6 – fair, 7,8 – good, 9,10 – excellent. According to the level of irritation a customer feels, Rotten WiFi app presents Internet user with an appropriate quirky phrase and sarcastic caricature reflecting the network connection.

The range of funky sayings will depend on the quality of Internet network and will vary from excellent (“Unreal!”) to rotten (“Your credit card expires when ordering on-line.”) and even no connection at all (“Craptastic!”). Users of Rotten WiFi app will be regularly updated with a selection of sarcastic caricatures to make sure that frustration always sounds fresh and catches attention of Internet providers. 

Whether it is a hotel, airport, restaurant or other location, it is hoped that Rotten WiFi will give some power back to the people who often find that their complaints about poor WiFi service go unheard.

Rotten WiFi app provides the possibility to share this information on social networks – Twitter, Facebook, G+, Foursquare and via e-mails. In cases when the user does not have Internet connectivity, the app saves the rated data locally and broadcasts it to the world as soon as they are back in signal range.
